It was Christmas eve 2010 snow was everywhere just perfect! We wrapped up warmly in our North Face gear (or rugged up as the Ozzies would say) and set off for a little photographic adventure around the golf course where we are lucky enough to live. The scenery was breathtaking! Don’t you think that there is just something magical about snow? It makes everywhere feel very serene and peaceful, it makes you feel like you don’t have a care in the world & I imagine it to be like walking on the moon.
All we could hear apart from a few dog walkers were the sounds of our feet crunching & compacting the snow down into perfect little moulds of size 4’s & 10’s feet…
Other than those people out walking their dogs & us it was almost silent. Most of the kiddies on the estate were probably bathed & in their jim jams by now getting Santa’s mince pie and a carrot for Rudolph ready, as we too have done for many many years previously but we just cant get our youngest to believe any more…. I suppose at 17 that’s a bit much to ask lolThe light was failing fast but we managed to bag about 80 stunning images before it completely disappeared, ones that may eventually grace the walls of the house. It would have been so easy just to stay in the comfort of a warm house eating hot mince pies, washed down with Baileys whilst watching the festive films on TV. So glad we didn’t 🙂
The colours were just beautiful soft pastel blues and oranges very pleasing on the eye, knowing that the camera never lies means we got to capture this visual feast at its most perfect! It’s a shame the brain/eye compensates to remove these beautiful colours so that we can see better in different lighting conditions but! the images show what was really there. I hope that you enjoy this little selection 🙂It was lovely seeing all the lovely warm tungten lighting & Christmas tree lights shining out from the windows of the houses, this kind of reminds me of coming home from work in the winter as a teenager knowing that as soon as I stepped through the door the aroma of my mum’s home cooking would be welcoming me… such fabulous memories tucked away in my heart!
Lovely pictures, you’ve really captured the atmosphere 🙂
Hi Alex, thank you for your lovely comment really appreciated 🙂 it wont be long before the snow comes back again, I think that I must have blinked and missed Summer lol, Les xxx
