Cassie and Eamon’s wonderful wedding day at Netherwood Hotel, Grange Over Sands in The Lakes 26th June 2011
Their summer wedding was originally booked at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire but, due to moving out of the area they unfortunately had to move wedding venues too. The date they cancelled was the same date as the awful fire at the castle. Call it fate I don’t know but it was really lucky for Cassie and Eamon or their wedding would not have gone ahead as planned.
Most couples want to meet their photographers before booking them for their day (something we strongly advise) However, so confident were Cassie and Eamon that I could photograph their day perfectly that they booked without any prior consultation. In fact I never actually met them until a pre wedding meeting just a few days before their big day.Cassie told me that she had seen enough of my work in bridal magazines and bridal shops such as Fairytale Brides etc to know that she had made the right choice. I’m often told by couples that when they do start to search for their photographer that after they have browsed a few magazines that they can spot images that are taken by either Shaun or myself without even seeing our studio name alongside them, I think that it becomes a kind of spot the photographer quiz for them lol.Luckily for me Shaun had the date free too and came along to help me capture it. We were both still on a high from winning the first ever ‘County Brides’ magazine award for The Best Wedding Photographer in the North West but! we managed to keep it under our hats and concentrate on what we were there to do 🙂 our own celebrations could start later! The hotel was a beautiful Edwardian building, fronted with a combination of both formal and informal gardens and a magnificent view over Morecambe Bay and the South Lakes.
I so wish the hotel was closer to home though because we would love to work there more often. ‘Gary’ our duty manager was one of the nicest guys we have ever come across. He was so helpful and hospitable. He very generously made sure that we were very well looked and his generosity was very much appreciated so “Thank very much to Gary!..you were fantastic!”Cassie looked simply stunning in her ‘Justin Alexander’ bridal gown and having bought it and had it fitted by Carol of ‘The Wedding Queens’ I just knew it was going to fit like a dream, I wasn’t disappointed! In fact seeings Eamon’s face light up as she walked into marry him spoke a thousand words and confirmed my thoughts completley 100%
We were thrilled as always to play a little part in their lovely wedding day.
